Vision Quest is an ancient Rite of Passage observed and practiced by Indigenous peoples worldwide. Undertaken to discover greater meaning and purpose in one’s life, it is a Sacred communion with the Source, the Earth, the Ancestors and one’s self. Known as Hanbleceya (Crying for a Dream) in the Lakota language, through a personal sacrifice- fasting, prayer and solitary time in Nature- one humbles oneself before the Spirits to be blessed with Vision, insight and clarity. It is a search to receive answers to the dilemmas and questions confronting each and every one of us. The Hanbleceya is performed in a traditional manner.
